I'm having a problem here and I'm not 100% sure what it is. Here is what I have setup so far:
I have 1 DSL line.
I have 1 WIMAX modem connected
I have 1 3g usb adapater
All 3 internet pipes work individually though none of them are very fast
and the DSL is intermittent while the 3g is just plain slow. But what
the heck 3 crappy lines should be 1 semi decent line in the end but it
isnt so in my case. Looks like the nearest server geographically is the
SG server. Here are some stats I've taken on pretty much default
settings:
Wimax (full signal strength on wireless modem) w/out switchboard
performed 230kbps down avg on a single torrent file after it normalized
and was steady. After connecting through SG (no other connections in
use) it performed at 200kbps avg.
DSL: performed at 125kbps down avg on the same torrent file. After
connecting through SG (again other connections were disabled) it
performed at 200kbps. *This connection is intermittent so it jumped i
did the best i could to average it but it did seem a lot faster after
utilizing the SG server*
Now when try to take advantage of both the DSL and the WIMAX on the same
torrent after switchboard did it's thing with configuring the bandwidth
it performed quite well on the torrent at 350kbps download speed but it
would constantly flatline (I think due to the DSL timing out it would
give switchboard problems and the internet would be inaccessible for
30seconds or so then it would bounce back. The best part i thought would
be to stream HD video with faster internet but with this problem it
worked against me.)
Now I tried to remove the problem by not using the DSL line but instead
using the 3g usb adapter. This time i didnt want to use a torrent to
test speeds so I tried streaming a video of some crappy tv
show(putlocker) if it makes a difference what video host i was using.
Again here I'm using the SG server as I tried the AU server and i got
even worst results.
Now with switchboard only utilizing the SG server and the wimax (others
disabled) it actually buffers QUITE FAST i mean by the time i was 1/4
through the tv show it had already buffered the whole stream. Now i
cleared my cache and refreshed the page to stream it again this time
with the 3g and the wimax. This is when it started to buffer every 5-10
seconds or so. I could not for the life of me get any speed out of them
once they were both being used, same thing with the DSL except the DSL
would crash the connection due to timeouts.
*Extra note regarding DSL* I would do a ping test of 100pings to
google.com and it would show 7-9 ping out of the 100 as timed out.
Now I did some research here in the community and have seen that some 3g
dongles/adapters (mine is some telco branded huawei E303) disconnect
once another connection is detected not sure if that's my case but when
looking through the settings couldnt find anything about that through
the branded telco client settings etc.
Here is a screen shot the nvideo adapter is the wimax and the other one is the 3g:

Any suggestions or suggestions with settings are welcome. If you need
more information please just tell me how to get that info and I'll run
it down.
